How to Get the Reaper Race
The strongest boss-killing race, unlocked by evolving Wraith through four soul trials on Slayer Island.

Verified against sources covering May–August 2026
Cross-checked: beebom.com (11 May 2026) and narcosis-the-game.com (updated Aug 2026). The two agree on the questline structure but contradict each other on which bosses drop the three souls — flagged in the steps below.
Before you start
- Sea 2 unlocked.
- The Wraith race, equipped. Reaper is an evolution of Wraith and cannot be rolled directly.
- Wraith is a Mythical reroll result, so expect a long grind before you can even start. No source we could verify documents a pity threshold for race rerolls, so plan for luck rather than a guarantee.
- A stock of Raid Keys, which the fourth trial burns through.
What you need
- Raid Keys, enough for at least ten raid runs and realistically more, since a single death voids a run.
- A build that can clear raids above Easy difficulty without dying.
- Access to sea beast spawns, for the Kraken trial.
Step by step
- 1
Equip Wraith and find the Soul Harvester
Go to Slayer Island in Sea 2 and head straight toward the NPC mobs. Two NPCs stand on the left; the second is the Soul Harvester. Interact with Wraith equipped to start the questline.
- 2
Trial 1 — defeat 1,500 NPCs
Long but not difficult. The commonly recommended method is to take a wide area-of-effect setup to Starter Island in Sea 2, stand between two enemy waves, and hold your area skill on auto. Keep Wraith equipped throughout.
- 3
Trial 2 — collect 3 boss souls
Every source agrees you need three souls from bosses, and this is where guides stop agreeing. One walkthrough names Spirit Warrior on Blue Planet, Cosmic Being on Punch Island or Sun God on Slayer Island, and The World on Bizarre Island. Another names Minotaur, a Sea Beast, and Spirit King instead. We could not resolve this from any official source, so check your in-game quest tracker — it names the specific bosses — before committing hours to farming the wrong ones.
- 4
Trial 3 — defeat 10 Krakens
Spawn sea beasts and kill Krakens specifically. Other sea beasts do not count toward this trial, which is the single most common way players waste time here.
- 5
Trial 4 — win 10 raids without dying
The hard part. Raids must be above Easy difficulty, and a death voids that run entirely rather than merely costing you the clear. Keep Wraith equipped for every attempt.
- 6
Return to the Soul Harvester
Head back to Slayer Island and claim Reaper from the same NPC.
How to tell it worked
- Your race shows as Reaper in the character menu.
- Your Max HP jumps sharply — Reaper carries the highest HP bonus of any race at +120%.
- The Soul Harvester stops offering the trials.
Common reasons it fails
- You are hunting for a “Reaper Key” and cannot find one
- See the FAQ below. In short: the Reaper race does not use a key, and the sources that describe a Reaper Key contradict each other about whether the item exists at all.
- Raid wins are not counting
- Two things void a run: dying at any point, and running Easy difficulty. Both are easy to do by accident when you are farming quickly.
- Kraken kills are not counting
- Only Krakens count, not sea beasts in general. Confirm the name on the health bar before you commit to a fight.
- You rerolled off Wraith mid-questline
- Trials require Wraith equipped. Get it back before continuing, and before handing in.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a Reaper Key in Sailor Piece?
- This is the most confused topic around the Reaper race, and the honest answer is that sources contradict each other. One widely-read guide states outright that no item called a Reaper Key exists and that players searching the term actually want the Reaper race questline. Another reports Reaper Keys as a 0.1% drop from Ghoul Member NPCs on Isolation Island in Sea 2. What is not in dispute: no source claims a Reaper Key unlocks the Reaper race. If you want the race, the Soul Harvester questline on this page is the route.
- Can I get Reaper from a Race Reroll?
- No. Reaper is a Secret race obtained only by evolving Wraith. Rerolls can give you Wraith, which is the prerequisite.
- Is Reaper the best race in Sailor Piece?
- For killing bosses, yes — it has the highest damage, the highest Max HP, execute damage, and the highest damage reduction of any race. For farming it loses to Archangel, which trades some of that for a large luck multiplier and double drop chance.
- Do the raids have to be consecutive?
- The requirement is ten raids won without dying. A death costs you that run rather than resetting your total, but confirm against your in-game tracker, since that detail is not stated identically everywhere.
